Overview

Sardinia is Italian whereas Corsica is French (though Italian at heart). Corsica is more rugged and wild, while Sardinia has some built areas and upscale resorts. Sardinia has more great beaches, but Corsica has quaint mountain villages and secluded coves. Choosing between the two islands can be hard. Amandine Blanchard, product manager at Corsican Places and Sardinian Places, says: “Corsica is more unspoiled, greener and more mountainous, which makes it more spectacular. It's full of character, authentic seaside resorts, and has better walking opportunities. The Strait of Bonifacio is the strait between Corsica and Sardinia, named after the Corsican town Bonifacio. It is 11 km (6.8 mi) wide and divides the Tyrrhenian Sea from the western Mediterranean Sea. The strait is notorious among sailors for its weather, currents, shoals, and other obstacles.

Tour Plan

Day 01

ARRIVE AT CAGLIARI

Arrival at Cagliari Airport, meet the local driver and the local tour guide. Lunch at leisure in Cagliari. Afternoon: visit of the capital of Sardinia. Walking tour through the city centre and visit to the exceptional Archaeological Museum where the Monti Prama Giants are exposed, and the cathedral. Finally transfer to Oristano. Check-in at the hotel, dinner (drinks included) and overnight in Oristano.

Day 02

THARROS - NURAGHE LOSA & BOSA

Breakfast at the hotel, check-out and visit of the roman city of Tharros one of the most popular of Sardinia, close to Oristano. Then, driving to the north, visit of the Nuraghe Losa, built in the II millenium B.C. and very well preserved. After lunch drive on the coastal road and visit the centre of Bosa, tiny town by the Temo river. Walk thorugh the quarter of Sa Costa dominated by the Malaspina Castle. Arrival in Alghero, check-in, dinner (drinks included) and overnight.

Day 03

ALGHERO - SACCARGIA & SANTU ANTINE

Breakfast at the hotel, visit of the historic centre of Alghero, with its Catalan atmosphere, the ramparts and the fortified port. Free time for shopping and lunch. In the afternoon leave Alghero and reach the Basilica of Saccargia, the most beautiful church of the island built in the Middle Age by the monks with local white and black stone. On the way back to Alghero visit of the Nuraghe of Santu Antine, one of the symbols of Sardinia, a perfect and elegant prehistoric fortification dating from the Bronze Age. Dinner (drinks included) and overnight at the hotel.

Day 04

PORTO TORRES & CASTELSARDO

Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Porto Torres to visit the beautiful Basilica of Porto Torres dating from the very early Romanesque age. Then drive west to the ancient Ziggurath altar of Monte d’Accoddi, one of the most ancient sites of Sardinia, connected with the Mesopotamic temples. Finally reach Castelsardo for lunch. Free time for lunch. In the afternoon visit of this beautiful historical town straight by the sea. Explore the historic centre with the cathedral and the fortifications. Leave the village to reach Arzachena. Check-in, dinner (drinks included) and overnight in Arzachena region.

Day 05

LA MADDALENA NATIONAL PARK

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Palau to take the ferry boat to La Maddalena, the main island of the National Park. Enjoy a panoramic ride of the major island with the best beaches and spots, and also enjoy a visit to the tiny centre of the village. Free time for lunch in La Maddalena. In the afternoon transfer to Caprera, tiny island connected to the main island by a bridge, and optional visit of the House of Giuseppe Garibaldi, father of the Italian independence and hero of Italy and southern America. Finally return to Sardinia mainland and discover Emerald Coast and Porto Cervo with its villas and boutiques. Dinner (drinks included) and overnight in Arzachena region.

Day 06

BONIFACIA & AJACCIO

Breakfast at the hotel. After check-out move to Santa Teresa di Gallura to take the ferry boat reaching Corsica. Once there visit of Bonifacio. Free time at leisure in Bonifacio to have lunch. In the afternoon leave the city for reaching Ajaccio, the town where Napoleone Bonaparte was born. Visit of the cathedral and according to clients’ desire the Bonaparte house. Check-in, dinner (drinks included) and overnight in Ajaccio region.

Day 07

CORTE & SAINT FLORENT

Breakfast at the hotel. After check out enjoy a tour of Corte, beautiful town nestled in the mountains of the central part of the island. Visit of the historic centre. Typical Corsican lunch in Corte. In the afternoon transfer to Bastia and on the way visit of Saint Florent, the Genoese citadel of the fifteenth century, painted in white and green, the cathedral of Nebbio and the harbour area. Dinner in local restaurant close to the hotel (drinks included). Check-in and overnight in Bastia region.

Day 08

DEPARTURE FROM BASTIA

After breakfast. Packing up your bags, take the leave from your hotel and you will be directly transferred to the Bastia airport from where you can fly back to your homeland.

Travel Documents

Original passport with minimum 6 months validity from the date of tour arrival along with sufficient blank pages for the stamping of visa.

Visa :

Schengen Visa required for Indian passport holder to visit Europe. You need to obtain E-visa from embassy before your travel to Europe.

Payment Terms

Payments can be made by Cheque, Demand Draft, NEFT, RTGS or IMPS. Cheque/Demand Draft should be in favor of "VM HOLIDAYS AND HOSPITALITY LLP".
You can also book your package online with Credit/Debit Card or Net Banking.

Cancellation Policy

If the Guest decides to cancel the tour for any reason whatsoever then s/he shall give a written application to the Company within specified time limit along with original receipt issued by the Company. Such cancellation will attract cancellation charges stated here under.
Cancellation charges will be calculated on gross tour cost and the cancellation charges shall depend on date of departure and date of cancellation.
Cancellation charges for any type of transport ticket are applicable as per the rules of the concerned authority.
Air tickets issued on special fares are NON REFUNDABLE and Guest shall bear cancellation charges.
Any refund payable to the Guest will be paid after the Company receives refund from the respective authorities. The Company deducts processing charges from the refund to be paid to the Guest.

From 15-07 Days : 75%
From 06-00 Days : 100%

Refund Policy :

Refund Process time is 21 working days for any normal cancellation. You will get refund by Bank transfer only.

Note : For any natural disaster or Government Travel Ban, you will get refund as per supplier / hotel / airline policy. If they provide credit note than you will get credit note as per their terms & conditions. We are not responsible for any cash/Bank transfer refunds for it.

The above price is per person basis. High Season Surcharges are applicable; rates are not valid for long weekends and public holidays.
Child up to 4 yrs is Complimentary, Adult: 12 years and above.
Personal identification is mandatory to carry on tour for Air Travel, Hotels for security reason like: election card, Driving Licence, Passport.
All rates are valid for Indian national only.
The above given prices are subject to change without prior notice.
The quotation is based on Standard room of individual hotel, however if unavailable then the upgrading cost to be borne by the guest.
Hotel check in is 1400 hrs and checkout would be 1000 hrs. Early check in and late check out subject to availability.
If the above hotels are not available similar category hotels are used as hotel rooms are subject to availability.Hotels may provide room heater at an additional price on direct payment basis.
Meals provided at the hotel (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner) are based on a set menu.
Anything other than the set menu will be charged extra.
Driver is NOT A GUIDE; he will take you to the sightseeing’s mentioned in the itinerary. You will have to explore the place of visit on your own.
Vehicle will be not at disposal. If guest wish to go for additional sightseeing extra charges will be applicable.

Special Notes

Airlines/Room up-gradation and complimentary will not be entertained during the tour unless if specified at the time of booking.
There is no refund for any services not utilized during the tour.
Security deposit is required either in cash or credit card by hotels which is refundable provided no room incidentals are incurred. This security deposit is not included in this quote and must be paid by the guests/corporate directly to the hotel when checking in.
Guests are advised not to keep valuables in the coach/vehicle while sightseeing.
The Company shall not be responsible for loss of valuables from the coach / vehicle . If the coach / vehicle is accidentally or otherwise damaged by the Guest, s/he will be required to pay compensation for the same.
