Arrive in Rio de Janeiro, also known as "The Marvelous City." Here your guide will greet you and escort you to your hotel.
Rio is home to one of the Seven Wonders of the World, the statue of Christ the Redeemer. Admire this impressive 38 m (124 ft) monument on a tour of Corcovado Mountain & the Tijuca Forest. Board a cog train up Corcovado Mountain and take in incredible views of the verdant Tijuca Forest and the bustling Carioca city. Spend the evening at your leisure. You can visit Copacabana, the most emblematic beach in Rio.
After breakfast, head to the top of Sugarloaf Mountain, 395 m (1,296 ft) high. Enjoy a panoramic view of the city and its surrounding beaches and forests. Visit the historical region of Rio de Janeiro and learn about the history of Brazil.
In the afternoon and evening, enjoy some free time to spend as you choose. We recommend you opt for a Samba Dinner Show, where dancers give riveting performances of Brazil's musical history, from slavery to the modern day, with Bossa Nova, samba, and Brazilian pop tunes accompanying the dynamic show.
After breakfast, your guide will take you to the airport for your 5-hour flight to Manaus, the capital of Brazil’s Amazon's State. Upon arrival in Manaus, you will be escorted to your hotel.
Manaus is a city that thrives on exports from the Amazon region, including rubber and Brazil nuts. The city sits along the bank of the Rio Negro, where the river joins with the Solimöes River. These two important rivers form the Amazon River. An overnight stay at hotel.
Today your Amazon tour begins. The Amazon lodges are ideal for adventurous travelers who want to discover the largest rain forest on Earth. Depending on your departure time, you might have some free time in the morning to explore the city on your own or you can take a city tour.
In the afternoon, your guide will take you on a motorboat ride along the river to the lodge. Meet your guide and the staff to learn about the lodge’s facilities and the tours you are going to take the following days. One tour we always recommend are the night safari tours where you can discover the nocturnal fauna of the Amazon such as alligators, bats, and frogs. An overnight stay at hotel.
All meals and guided excursions are included at the lodge. After breakfast, your guide will take you on varying excursions, choose from hiking through the jungle, visits to local caboclo villages, a trip to the Monkey Jungle exhibit, canoe rides, and more. An overnight stay at hotel.
You're likely to see abundant wildlife and exotic flora. Your guides are naturalists experts and can point out medicinal plants, along with spotting macaws and parrots, and identify the calls of various animals.
The evenings include gatherings at the lodge for dinner, drinks, educational presentations, and entertainment like dancing and live music. An overnight stay at hotel.
After breakfast, take the motorboat back to Manaus. Along the way, enjoy a tour through the "Meeting of the Waters," where the Rio Negro and Rio Solimoes run side by side without mixing. Once in Manaus, head to the airport for your flight back to Rio. An overnight stay at hotel.
Spend your last day in Rio relaxing in the sun on the beach, swimming in the warm sea or enjoying a delicious tropical juice. Afterwards, transfer to the airport to take a flight back home or to your next destination in South America.
