CIf the idea of travelling to North East hamlets, brings to your mind a vivid picture of the colonial hill station, embellished with rolling emerald green mountains in steep tiers, fluttering Tibetian flags against the backdrop of gigantic monasteries where lamas busy mumbling holy chants, and a handful of glittering lakes that holds a strong mythological significance, then what you have though is just a small clip art. The actual picture is far more stunning and alluring, however, the facts is that power of words can never comprehend the mysticism that this state possesses. Nowadays, many travellers and thrill seekers are heading to the hill station of North East, precisely Darjeeling and Gangtok, to seek a perfect holiday in serenity.
On arrival at NJP Railway Station / IXB Airport, our representative will be there to meet and greet you and transfer you to Gangtok (5,480 ft.). On arrival, check-in at the hotel. Rest of the day is free for leisure. An overnight stay at the hotel in Gangtok.
Meals: Breakfast & Dinner
After breakfast in the morning, we will start an excursion to Tsomgo Lake (12,400 ft.) and Baba Mandir (13,200 ft.), which are about 55 km one way from Gangtok city. After exploring the lake and the temple, return back to your hotel in Gangtok for an overnight stay.
In the morning, we will drive to Lachen (9,400 ft, 118 km). On the way, we will visit Seven Sister Waterfalls. Later, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant on the way. Check in at the hotel in the late afternoon. Rest of the day is free to relax followed by an overnight stay at the hotel in Lachen.
Today morning, we will drive towards Gurudongmar Lake (17,000ft). Gurudongmar Lake is one of the highest situated lakes in North Sikkim. The altitude here is may cause breathing problem so be careful. Overnight stay at hotel.
Begin your journey early in the morning. Lachen is at a higher altitude, so starting early allows you to make the most of the day and also helps you acclimatize better to the high altitude. The journey from Lachen to Lachung takes you through scenic mountain roads with views of snow-capped peaks, valleys, and meandering rivers. Upon reaching Lachung, you'll notice the charming setting surrounded by mountains.
After breakfast in the morning, we will proceed to Yumthang Valley which is also known as the Valley of Flowers (11800 Ft / 3598 Mts / 25 Kms / 1 ½ hours one way). On the way back, we will visit the hot spring which is considered to have medicinal properties. Later return back to hotel for overnight stay.
After breakfast, we will travel from Lachung to Darjeeling by road. The distance is around 172 kilometers, and it takes approximately 7-8 hours. Check-in to the hotel and relax.
This morning, you will drive to Tiger Hill (8,400 feet) to chase the down and see the stunning view of the sun rising and throwing it pinkish glow on the landscapes. After spending some time at the tiger hill, you will embark on a drive to the hotel via Ghum Monastery, which famed for its 15-feet high statue of "Maitreya Buddha" and Batasia Loop, famous for its war memorial. Enjoy scrumptious breakfast at the hotel and then go for the city sightseeing tour. As per the itinerary, today you will be visiting Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, P.N. Zoological Park (Thursday closed), Tenzing Rock, Tibetan Refugee self-help Centre (Sunday closed), Tea Garden (outer view), Ropeway and Japanese Temple. Evenings will be free for leisure. Stay and enjoy dinner at Darjeeling.
After breakfast, Check out and embark on a drive from the hotel to reach New Jalpaiguri railway station (Siliguri) or Bagdogra Airport (Siliguri). Your arrival at the railway station or airport will mark the end of the tour.
